Squadron Members Assist at San Marcos Airshow

Cadets and Senior members from the David Lee "Tex" Hill Composite Squadron TX-435 supported the Go Wheels Up! airshow held at the San Marcos airport on Saturday May 28th. 17 cadets and 7 senior members participated in the event which started at 0700 with the early shift of cadets and senior members setting up the recruiting booth. The event had a 5K run, car show, air show, music, food and aircraft displays. Cadets assisted the event throughout the day with passing out show brochures and and assisting with parking. The recruiting booth was next to the USAF booth and several cadets took advantage of the "battle royal bounce house" that the USAF had setup. The airshow opened with parachutists bringing in the American and Texas flags. Several event attendees stopped by the recruiting booth to get more information on Civil Air Patrol or to look at the squadron’s Cessna 172 airplane which was also on display. The airshow concluded with a performance by the USAF A-10C Thunderbolt II Demonstration Team and a Heritage Flight of the A-10C with a World War II P-51 Mustang.
